How to use your laptop/computer to create a Wifi Hotspot without any software.
Welcome to this post and i hope by the end,you will tap something.
Have you ever been in a situation where you have internet access on the computer/laptop but with no data bundle on your smartphone?
Well this happens,You might be at work in an office with your desktop computer or laptop on your desk with internet access but off on your favorite social media sites because of no data bundles. Your boss at work might even not provide you with the WIFI key. Well dont stress anymore the solution is here.
With a laptop, its the easiest way to create a WIFI hotspot.
i have tried many software such as connectify,M hotspot,Virtual wifi creator,Baidu before to create a WIFI hotspot but well these have all been with a disadvantage.
Some of these softwares are infected with malicious codes which enter your computer system and destroy the application programs. Some are also hosted on risky unprotected sites which might destroy your system.
thats why i came up with this post to help many people who have faced this or who may have failed to create a wifi hotspot.
Lets get brains at work.
We shall see how we can create a WIFI hotspot using the cmd(comand line)
This is a system program that comes with the computer, available in all windows editions(7,8,8.1 and 10)
For you to be successful, your laptop should be installed with proper internet drivers.
1.The first step is to go to the start menu It’s in the bottom-left corner of the screen. You can also press the ⊞ Win key to open Start.
On Windows 8, place your mouse in the upper-right corner of the screen, then click the magnifying glass icon.
2.Type command prompt into Start. Doing so will bring up the Command Prompt icon.
Click Yes when prompted. Doing so will open Command Prompt.
Type NETSH WLAN show drivers and press ↵ Enter. This command will display information to help you confirm that your computer can create a hotspot with Command Prompt.
netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=NETWORKNAME key=PASSWORD and press ↵ Enter. Make sure you replace the "NETWORKNAME" and "PASSWORD " text with what you want your hotspot's name and password to be.
Right-click your current connection’s name. You’ll find it near the top of the “Change adapter settings” window.
netsh wlan show hostednetwork setting=security
To change the SSID or key of the hosted network.Do the following
You need to first stop the hosted network.
netsh wlan stop hostednetwork
netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=NEW_Sid key=New_Password
netsh wlan start hostednetwork
Thanks for following.
